How to Make Use of Picture Frame with Broken Glass

What do you do with an old picture frame? Or in my case, a frame where the glass is broken? Phoebe had this thing where she felt compelled to step on things that were lying on the ground--until inevitably they broke. Boxes for recycle, board games left haphazardly on the floor, picture frames in a dark corner of my bedroom floor where I thought it safe to put frames because no one would go there, much less step on said frame! You could certainly turn a frame sans glass into a bulletin board if you get cork cut to size, but I wanted to use things lying around the house. I'm always on the lookout for lightweight, inexpensive art for the ever-expanding gallery wall in our living room.

Materials:
Roll of contact paper--I chose cork design
Pencil
Scissors
Stapler

Step 1: Trace back of frame onto
contact paper backing.

Step 2: Cut contact paper to size.

Step 3: Peel off contact paper backing
and affix onto back of picture frame.

Press down hard.

Step 4: Reassemble picture frame.

Staple card onto cork. Et voila!

Without the glass, you can open
and enjoy the musical card!
This one plays "Happy Together."
